PiZero’s Widget at Nokia Innovation Newsdesk

At Nokia Innovation Newsdesk, there’s a competition going on: the "Nokia N97 Widget Competition".

The goal is to design a good looking and useful widget for the upcoming Nokia N97, and everyone can participate by downloading the design package and submitting its own entry to the contest. Even if it has been running for a while, I only found the time to design something in the last days, and I ended up by designing a widget related to – guess what? -  Themes :-)

The contest entries are displayed in the contest gallery, and users can see them and rate, with an fast and easy 1-to-5 stars system.

The 10 highest rated widgets will (mhm..) go directly in front of a panel of judges selected from the Nokia Nseries team. The winning widget will be choosen in regards of its  creativity, usability and quality of design.

The winning widget will be published on the new OVI Store, and the winner developer will receive a brand-new N97 with his plugin installed on it. Sounds good, uh?

So, here come your part. :-)

If you are kind enough to spend a minute of your time for me, go to  THIS  page, and look at my widget. It is called "Home Screen Bar"

and it looks like this.

If you like it, vote for it!!!   Thank you!!!  :-)

Non ti ho mai fatto una donazione, ma uso solamente i tuoi temi. Voto molto volentieri!

  2. I don't know if you read the comments. But I'll use this to protest.
I have voted you 5 stars up because I heard your claim.

You, on the other hand, did exactly the opposite with us, e71 users. We asked thousands of times for you to update the e71 specific icons but u didn't care…

So, please take into account we are helping you this time and do something for us.

    Thanks

I'll try to explain one more time the problem with the E71.

Unfortunately, Nokia made two s60 phones, the E71 and the E66 with unique UI
features, that are different from every other 3rd edition phone.

This mean that I could make themes fully compatible with the E71 and E66,
only by using the apposite plugin from Nokia, but this would mean making a
special version of each theme I make, only for those 2 phones, and the E71,
moreover, has dozens of little special components that take very long to
    design.

So, regarding the widget, you can't compare the things. To make a theme
compatible with the E71 would mean spend many hours on each theme I publish,
    not 30 seconds!

The problem is that the time for making themes is currently limited for me,
because of my work and because i'm still a student, and i'm sorry if i
can't make the right version for E71. I know this is a big issue, but I
wish people could just understand that I'm a human, with limited free time,
my day is already filled of things to do, and to publish my themes I often
stay up until late night to finish them, and to keep the quality up to my
    best standards.

The good news is that i'm planning to do one special theme, to be released
in the next months, made using users suggestions, and it will be surely
compatible also with the E71. And probably, there will be a small number of
my most downloaded theme that will be re-made for E71 and E66.

    Kind Regards

    Pizero

  5. Petar says:

    Dear Pizero,

It is true that E71-compatible themes are difficult to make. That is why there are so very few of them, and even fewer are of good quality. And that is why, amid this scarcity, any E71 theme designed with your quality standards will certainly generate much interest. I think the proper way to go here is to design a small set of high-quality E71 themes that are available as a premium package for pay. This way users will be happy and you will be rewarded for your work. Good stuff does not come for free.

    Regards,

    Petar

fully sorry for the upstairs who speaks "four-letter word" in chinese… SHAME ON HIM!!!!
    I'm a CHINESE student,and I really love your themes!
U know, not everyone knows how to be a human or even a creature…

    Pizero rules!

I've had my N79 for a month now – and I love it! And now the "wonder" shines even more with your brilliant themes.
Question – My phone is bought with a fixed amount for talking, texting … AND downloading software a la themes. But to use the fixed amount I have to buy via my phone e.g. phonenumber. Is it possible to buy your themes this way?
