Pizero.net was opened in 2007 by Michele Cerreta, a law student with a passion for IT, mobile multimedia and design, who had a desire to share his mobile phone themes and wallpapers with the world. He achieved this, and in late 2008 the Pizero Design company was founded.
Pizero Design quickly gained success, publishing mobile themes and apps on Nokia Store, being among the first developers to reach 1 million downloads. In 2010, Pizero Design began publishing apps for iOS as well as BlackBerry, and in 2011 entered the Android and Windows Phone markets, while still increasing his success on the Nokia platform.
The company is today still owned and run by Michele, who takes care of every project, including apps and themes design, the company website and blog (12 million page views), customer care, marketing and business strategy, social media, business and financial dept.
In 2010 and 2011 Pizero Design was featured as the n.1 italian publisher on Nokia Store, and as one of the world top 10 developers (success story). In 2012 Pizero Design is expected to cross 20 million downloads on Nokia Store. Michele has taken part in various mobile industry events, such as: Mobile World Congress (2011-2012), Symbian Exchange and Exposition 2010 (exhibitor and speaker), WhyMCA developer happy hours 2011 (speaker).
The story of Pizero Design was featured in several italian newspapers, including “Il Sole 24 ore“, “La Nazione“, “Il Giorno” “Il Resto del Carlino”, for the extraordinary success reached by a young entrepreneur who literally invented a job for itself in times of international financial crisis, and was mentioned in an interview by former Nokia Italia President Alessandro Mondini Branzi as “the italian champion for Nokia”.
As of today, Pizero Design has an impressive and rapid-growing portfolio of 72 apps on Nokia Store, 4 on Apple AppStore, 20 on Google Play (Android Market), 3 on BlackBerry AppWorld, 2 on Windows Phone marketplace, as well as a collection of over 100 themes available for free on Pizero.net. Since 2007, estimates say that over 25 million apps and themes by Pizero Design have been downloaded worldwide.
